Not really, I mean.. I wouldn’t know what to say.
Yeah, that sounds perfect :)
miss-anyam replied to your post:Just let me know what he says. Oh and Anya might meet up with us at the mall, I guess everyone is excited to finally get some sort of normalcy back at Degrassi.
So excited about shopping with you Clare, hope you don’t mind. I know we don’t talk much. I’m sure we can find a stunning dress for you that Eli will love
Oh, that will be fun :)
I’ll ask him. Even if he says no, I might talk him into it anyway.
Eli? Drive us to go shopping? I doubt he’d be up for that, but I’ll ask him :)
That’s very sweet, Connor. I’ll be sure and talk to Eli about it.
I’m glad I was of service :) I guess you would like me to go shopping with you soon?
It was all you, Alli. I was merely helping.
Eli was abruptly torn out of his sleep sweating immensely. Another nightmare, he thought, panting worse than he had after a run. How sad was it that he got more worked up and sweaty from a nightmare than a work out? Either way he looked at it, he couldn’t sleep. With Julia’s death day looming over…
“Get dressed.” Eli plainly stated. Clare was slightly confused, but she didn’t ask questions. “Okay, give me a few minutes.” she replied. He sounded like he was about to say something else, but she hung up quickly, instantly feeling bad about it. She had been so busy the last few days with Alli, she hadn’t had much time with Eli. Though this was at an insane hour in the morning, she didn’t complain. Clare hoped that he didn’t mind her spending so much time apart from him, but she still missed him. She was a bit worried at why he called her so late though. She was probably over thinking, but she had a feeling something had happened. As the thoughts danced around in her head, and she quickly got dressed, she wondered how she was going to get out of her house. Her dad wasn’t home, but her mom was becoming more and more of a light sleeper. She pushed that aside, and grabbed her phone, making her way out of her room.
As she made her way down the stairs, she constantly stopped to make sure she hadn’t woken her mom. he got to the front door, grabbed her coat, and quietly opened the door. She got outside, and quickly shut the door behind her. As she turned around, she heard the hearse turn off, and watched Eli get out and walk over to her.
When Eli was close enough to her he pulled her into a tight, meaningful hug. It felt like forever since he’d spent real time with his girlfriend. Maybe that’s why he had been having discerning nightmares recently. He hadn’t enough of the one thing that made his days better. As Clare clutched onto him, she couldn’t help feeling there was more to this hug than met the eye. When Eli finally released her, he had decided that he was going to spend as much time as humanly possible with her. It was the one thing that would make him feel good as possible for him. “Are you okay?” Clare asked looking at Eli deeply. Instead of answering with words he grabbed Clare’s chin and kissed her slowly and gently. “Now I am.” he said as he grabbed her hand and walked her towards Morty. “May I ask why I have the pleasure of this visit?” she asked as he opened the back for them both to sit down in. As Eli climbed in the back after her, he looked down subconsciously. He felt so weak as he said the next words “I’ve been… having… having some… well… nightmares.” He looked up at Clare to see her reaction. Her eyes widened with concerned and she put her hand on his face. “I’m sorry.” she felt guilty for bringing it up “I wish there was something I could do to help.” she added. Eli smirked at her words. “You just being here is enough to help me.” he assured her.
“Do you want to talk about it?” she asked as she dropped her hand from his face, but he grabbed it and placed it against his chest, smiling at her. He never answered her as he held on to her hand, but Clare could see it was bugging him. “Eli..” she questioned, looking up at him. he had his eyes closed, as if he was deep in thought. “You know I’ll listen.” His eyes slowly opened, and he finally dropped her hand. Eli sighed heavily, and Clare scooted closer to him, placing her hand on his shoulder. “Talk to me, Eli. Please.” He looked at her, almost defeated. “You don’t need to hear all my problems, Clare. I shouldn’t drop it all on you.” She grabbed Eli’s hand, interlacing their fingers. “Eli, you know I don’t mind. I know how the nightmares get to you. I just want you to know, I’m here.”
Clare loved Eli. She didn’t want him to suffer through whatever it was he was suffering through alone. She promised him that she would be there for him and she would. She didn’t know what he was going through exactly, but she understood how it effected him. As Eli looked at his girlfriend, so ready and willing to accept him he couldn’t tell her the contents of his nightmare. He just couldn’t. She was so sweet and innocent, and that’s what made him want to spend every waking moment with her. “Let’s just say, I’m constantly reminded I’m a murderer… when I sleep.” Clare gasped inaudibly. The harsh and eerie way that Eli had said those words had caught her off guard. Recently, she had begun to get a creeping feeling behind her that things weren’t completely right. She meant what she had said. She would be there for him. But sometimes, moments like these, she wondered if she was really the one who he needed. Eli thought he saw a little fear in Clare’s eyes as he said those words and looked down again. “I get it. You’re scared. You’re scared of me… it makes sense.” he paused and looked up at her “I am a heartless monster.” Clare’s breathe was knocked out of her at his words. How could he say that in a moment like this? She was almost angry at him, until she saw silent tears dripping down his cheeks. Comfort took over her as she grabbed him into a tight hug.
She was speechless. She kept holding onto Eli tighter, and tighter. She was in no way scared of him. She was beginning to become scared for him. Eli sometimes took things to the extreme. He was intense at time, but never scary. As she pulled back, she had tears falling from her own eyes. Eli wouldn’t look at her though. He knew that if he did, he would ruin everything. “You are not heartless, at all. I wish you would stop thinking I’m scared of you.” He looked at her, wiping the tears from his face. “I can see it in your eyes, Clare. You scared.” She just shook her head in disagreement as he kept saying she was. “I’m a murderous monster, Clare. I don’t see how you’re not scared.” She was tired of Eli saying all these horrible things about his self. She knew these next two weeks were going to be rough for him, but she didn’t want him doing this to his self. “Eli, stop it!” she snapped. He looked at her, and waited, with a blank look on his face. “Stop doing this to yourself, please. You are not a monster. I wish you would believe me when I say that.” “I want to believe you, but I just can’t. I know what I’ve done, and i can’t take it back. It’s always there.” She sighed, and moved to sit in front of him. “Please stop this. Please.”
